Six months after announcing plans to levy anti-dumping duties, the European Commission has imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of fused alumina from the People’s Republic of China.

The duties, which range from 88.7% to 110.6%, will apply for an initial period of five years. Alongside these measures, the Commission has introduced a duty-free tariff rate quota (TRQ) allowing a limited volume of Chinese fused alumina to enter the EU without duties. Imports exceeding this quota will be subject to the full anti-dumping rates, with the quota set to gradually reduce over the lifetime over the next five years.

A full list of affected commodity codes, including applicable TRQ volumes through to 2030, can be found in Annex II of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/114.
